FileMaker Database Developer

Angel City Data is an award-winning leader in database and web design and a Platinum member of the FileMaker Business Alliance (FBA).  We’re seeking talented subcontractors for Database Development work.  Angel City Data uses FileMaker Pro, PHP, MySQL, Oracle, XML, Servoy and other technologies to craft effective database and web applications.  

We are seeking individuals with advanced FileMaker experience who want to work on challenging projects. Our clients represent a variety of industries including state/local governments, entertainment, general business, creative industries, healthcare, education and non-profits. There is a possibility the position could turn into a full-time staff position.

Need to Have (required):

-A total dedication to customer service

-Great ears for listening to customers needs and understanding their goals

-Good eyes for spotting client workflow or technology bottlenecks

-Excellent creativity to design innovative solutions that eliminate problems

-Must be based in So California (no telecommuters please) for meetings in our Burbank offices

-3 - 5+ years experience in advanced development of large, multi-user FileMaker Pro databases, including versions 6 - 11

-Working experience in configuration and maintenance of FileMaker Server

-2 - 3+ years managing complex, technology-based projects

-Strong data modeling skills

Strong development chops with special attention to client usability, system scalability, integration flexibility and ease of maintenance

-Ability to quickly conceptualize, evaluate and troubleshoot complex problems and systems.

-Strong experience with both Mac & Windows workstations/servers, general networking, etc. 

Nice To Have (optional):

-2 - 3+ years experience in design/development/maintenance of MySQL databases or similar

-2 - 3+ years web development experience with HTML, PHP, XML, CSS & JavaScript.

-Other database-related experience (Oracle, Servoy, SQL Server, PostgreSQL. Access, Crystal Reports, etc.)

-Other goodies like AJAX, Ruby, Flash, ActionScript, .Net, VB, AppleScript, etc.

-Graphic art skills, experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.

-Expert with Office Applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
